Thirty-five years and eighty countries later, St. Louis based photographer Stewart Halperin, a New Jersey native, returns home for his first East Coast gallery solo show. The exhibit will run from May 31 – July 18, at Asher Neiman Gallery in the town of Red Bank in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
For over 35 years St. Louis based photographer Stewart D. Halperin has traveled the world with his cameras. His work has taken him to over 80 countries spanning six continents. The roots of his passion for his work and traveling can be traced to the rainforests of Africa. It was there in Tanzania as a young graduate student with Dr. Jane Goodall that Halperin learned to look through his cameras lens. The more formative influence on Halperin’s work was his friendship and collaboration with color photography legend Ernst Haas.
